What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a powerful way of working with the body, mind and nervous system through conscious, intentional breathing.

Our breathing changes with our emotional and physical state. We breathe differently when we're anxious, stressed, excited, overwhelmed or relaxed. By becoming more conscious of the breath, we can begin to influence how we feel and create a different relationship with our internal experience.

My approach combines deep diaphragmatic breathwork with slower, regulating breath patterns and therapeutic techniques. This creates space to explore what may be happening beneath the surface, while staying connected to your body, your boundaries and your sense of choice.

Breathwork with Tracie

My breathwork sessions are not simply about learning how to breathe differently. They're an opportunity to explore what your breath may be connected to.

I bring together breathwork with my wider therapeutic skill set, drawing on approaches including Inner Child Therapy, Gestalt, Parts Therapy, IEMT, regression, NLP and hypnotherapy.

Depending on what you need, we may explore emotional patterns, beliefs, memories, physical sensations, behaviours or experiences that you feel ready to understand differently.

Sometimes the work can be quite deep and emotionally engaging. At other times, the most valuable thing we can do is slow everything down and give your nervous system some space to settle.

There is no single way a session should feel. Your experience will be individual to you, and we work at a pace that respects where you are on the day.

Your breath as a doorway

The breath gives us a direct connection with the body.

As we work with it consciously, you may become more aware of sensations, emotions, thoughts or patterns that are usually easy to overlook. Rather than trying to force anything to happen, we can become curious about what is there and work with it from a place of awareness and choice.

For some people, breathwork becomes a way of releasing emotions that have been held in the body. For others, it can create greater self-awareness, help them reconnect with themselves or simply offer an experience of being fully present.

My role is to guide you, provide the structure and bring the therapeutic tools that may support the process. You remain in charge of your experience throughout.

A therapeutic approach

Because I have training across hypnotherapy, Inner Child Therapy, Gestalt, Parts Therapy, IEMT, regression and other therapeutic approaches, I can adapt the session rather than treating breathwork as a one-size-fits-all technique.

We might spend time exploring a particular pattern or emotional response. We might work with the body and physical sensations. We might use therapeutic techniques alongside the breath to help you understand something that has been difficult to shift.

And sometimes we simply breathe. There is value in that too.

Is Breathwork right for you?

Breathwork can be helpful if you're looking to:

  • develop greater self-awareness

  • explore emotional patterns

  • reconnect with your body

  • work with stress or feelings of being overwhelmed

  • explore beliefs or behaviours that may be keeping you stuck

  • create space for emotions that feel ready to move

  • deepen your understanding of yourself

  • experience the effects of conscious, intentional breathing

Every session is tailored to you, so you don't need to arrive with a particular goal or know exactly what you want to work on.

You can arrive exactly as you are.

Session Information

1:1 Breathwork — £120

Sessions are tailored to you and typically include preparation, guided breathwork and time to integrate and reflect afterwards.

Please allow yourself some space after a session rather than immediately rushing back into a busy schedule. Breathwork can be a deeply immersive experience, and giving yourself time afterwards can be an important part of the process.

If you have any relevant medical or psychological considerations, please discuss these with me before booking so we can establish whether breathwork is appropriate for you and adapt the session where necessary.
